Choice Theory

Choice Theory Choice Theory for you have heard of me than a year choice theory, but I know that I never really explained what Choice Theory. Choice theory is actually an explanation of all human behavior by Dr. William Glasser. There are basically five components of this theory - the basic human needs, the world's perception of the world, the comparison and the overall behavior. I give a brief description of each, starting with the five basic needs of human beings. The basic needs of human beings are bo with five basic needs of the people needs - survival, love and belonging, power, freedom and fun. We were bo with them, but we have experience in different degrees. A person can be a high need for affiliation and love, while another person is at liberty. We are bo with these needs and are biologically driven, they met in the best way available to us. The quality of this world is a place that is all we shop, where there are pictures of things that one or more satisfied our basic needs in the past or things that we believe they fulfill in the future. These things need not meet the definition of corporate quality. Alcohol is in the world the quality of an alcoholic, steeling cars in the world the quality of a car thief, and domestic violence in the world the quality of a batt. The only two prerequisites for entry into the world of quality, that one or more of our needs, and it feels good. The assessment of the world, there is not much to say about the perception of the world, but for the purposes of this article is all I want to say is that we have our perception of the world. Our system in the field of sensory information through sight, touch, sound, taste and smell, but we all have unique ways of processing that information based on our experience, our culture and our values. The most important thing to remember about the perception of the world is that, if push of others, their world is not honest does not mean that one of you is wrong. It simply means you are different. In memory of this statement is simply a lot of disagreements and conflict, in people's lives. The acceptance of this fact would mean that we may need, from our point of view of others. It could be simply the fact that we see things differently and move forward. Comparison The comparison is where we consider what we want from our world of quality against our perception of what we think are really good. If these two things are a game, everything is good. However, if our perception of the world and not the quality, in other words, we see ourselves not in possession of the things we want, then act on those things we think. People in general, not much progress or change things now, unless they are in some degree of discomfort - the greater the pain more motivation to try something different. This is where conventional wisdom tells us that if we want what is best for other people in our lives, then it is our responsibility for their pain, to do things differently because we know what is best for them. Right? Wrong. We can only know what is best for us. Remember that our worlds are perceived all different. We have unique values and experiences. How can we know what is best for someone else, if we are not skin or his life? We can only know what is best for us. General behavior, there are two things about the behavior. One problem is that the two aims is that all behavior is total. Let's start with the idea that all behavior is total. There are four inseparable components of behavior - the actions, thinking, feeling and physiology. These are all at the same time, in a given problem, where we are. The first two components - to act and think - these are the only components that have direct control. This means that if we want to change the way you feel or something that happens in our bodies (physiology), then we must first consciously change what we do and how you think. As with any targeted behavior as is the behavior of all our best efforts, something we want. We are never in response to exteal stimuli. We are always actively in whatever we want. This means that if I shout to my son to clean his room and after several times, I was not crying because my son "made me mad." I was screaming because I was still with my best attempt for him to do what I wanted, what to clean his room. I think this hair splitting, but it is an important distinction to make when you try to a victim by the role that a person is entitled. The impact of the theory rather free choice from us the idea that people are "conduct". All people are not trying their best, something they want. Of course, in the process, which break the law, ignore the rules and respect for others, but these side effects are really doing the best they know how to get their needs met. We all do our best - some of us are simply better opportunities, resources and practices that are available to us than others. If we look at the concepts of choice theory, then our function should do more to educate and help others, self-assessment of the effectiveness of their behavior. Knowing that often continue to do things exactly as they are, because it is known and / or because what they do, it's really something they want. It is not our job to stop them, nor is it our job to save them from the consequences of their behavior. We can only try our best to help others to evaluate the effectiveness of their behavior and to choose a different way, perhaps, that do not violate the rules or violate the person or someone else. Then we need to leave the road and the state of play. This can be difficult to do - like you have done your job as parents, teachers, counselors or coaches, but I wonder what is the alteative? If you try to force or coercion or corruption of another person, things that he or she does not want to do, you can be successful. You can search for the right wage or a painful enough consequence to another person to do what you want, but you breed resentment and contempt. Your relationship will suffer. If you think that, like me, that the relationship is the root of all influence, you lose the ability to influence others through an exteal audit.
